I highly recommend you to watch the great drawings of Marcel Schindler with which he narrates us the beautiful story of “THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA” by the American writer Ernest Hemingway who wrote the novel in 1951 in Cuba.
Ich empfehle euch von ganzem Herzen die folgenden grossartigen Zeichnungen von Marcel Schindler anzusehen mit welchen er uns den Klassiker “DER ALTE MANN UND DAS MEER” vom amerikanischen Schriftsteller Ernest Hemingway erzählt, der die Novelle 1951 in Kuba.
Vi consiglio di cuore di guardare il seguente video nel quale l’artista Marcel Schindler ci racconta, tramite dei disegni, la bellissima storia del famoso libro “IL VECCHIO E IL MARE”, dell’autore americano Ernest Hemingway, che quest’ultimo scrisse nel 1951a Cuba.
Short summary :
Santiago, the main character of the story is an old fisher, who has gone without a fish for 84 days. The boy who helps him is not supposed to do so anymore because of Santiago’s bad luck. The fisher decides to set out further onto the Gulf Stream and a big fish finally takes his bait. Unfortunately the fisher doesn’t manage to pull the fish in and has to struggle with it for two days. During this time Santiago develops a big estimation for his adversary.
Santiago is hurt and completely exhausted but at least stabs the fish with a harpoon and so wins the battle against nature for food. While trying to go home sharks, attracted by the blood, almost devour the whole fish. When he finally arrives home he falls onto his bed and into a deep sleep.
“Keep the blanket around you,” the boy said. “You’ll not fish without eating while I’m alive.” (Page 14) “Behalte die Wolldecke um dich herum,” sagte der Junge.”Du wirst nicht fischen ohne zu essen, solange ich lebe.” “Tieni la coperta intorno a te,” diceva il ragazzo.” Non andrai a pescare senza mangiare, finché sono in vita io.“
Kurze Zusammenfassung:
Santiago, die Hauptperson in der Geschichte ist ein alter Fischer, der seit 84 Tagen keinen Fisch mehr gefangen hat. Dem Knaben, der ihm bei der Arbeit hilft, ist es eigentlich verboten ihm weiterhin zu helfen, wegen Santiagos Unglück.
Der Fischer entschliesst sich weiter in den Golfstrom hinauszugehen und ein grosser Fisch beisst schliesslich an. Leider schafft es der Fischer nicht den Fisch ins Boot zu ziehen und muss mit ihm während zwei Tagen kämpfen. Während dieser Zeit entwickelt Santiago einen grossen Respekt für seinen Gegner. Santiago ist verletzt und komplett erschöpft, aber kann den Fisch zu guter Letzt mit einer Harpune erstechen und gewinnt so den Kampf gegen die Natur für Nahrung.
Als er versucht nach Hause zu gehen, verschlingen Haifische, die vom Blut angezogen worden sind, beinahe den ganzen Fisch. Endlich zu Hause ankommen, fällt er auf sein Bett und in einen tiefen Schlaf.
Riassunto/italiano
Santiago, il carattere principale della storia, è un vecchio pescatore, che non ha più preso un pesce da 84 giorni. Il ragazzo che lo aiuta di solito con il lavoro non avrebbe più il diritto di farlo per via della sfortuna di Santiago. Il pescatore decide di uscire maggiormente nella Corrente del Golfo e finalmente abbocca un gigantesco pesce.
Purtroppo il pescatore non riesce a tirare il pesce nella barca e deve battersi con lui per due giorni. Durante questo tempo Santiago sviluppa un grande rispetto per il suo avversario. Il pescatore è ferito e completamente esausto, ma riesce alla fin fine ad accoltellarlo con un’arpione e vince così la battaglia contro la natura per il cibo. Mentre che cerca di rientrare i squali, attirati dal sangue,quasi lo divorano completamente.
Quando arriva finalmente a casa casca sul letto e si addormenta profondamente.
