SOMMERGEDANKEN/PENSIERI D’ ESTATE

AUCH ZU INSEKTEN/ALSO ABOUTS INSECTS/ANCHE SU INSETTI

“If you cannot kill a man- well; if you cannot kill cattle or birds, all the better, neither fish nor insects, very good.Try to do as best as you can. Don’t brood over about what is possible and what is not. Do what you can achieve with your own strength.” It all depends on this!
Tu, was Du mit Deinen Kräften zustande bringst. Darauf kommt alles an.“
―Leo Tolstoi
By the way, it will soon be possible to buy insects as food in Switzerland but the respective animals have to be well recognized. Insects can be sold and offered in one piece only and are not allowed to be sold in processed form. It seems, however, that clients are not very fond of whole crickets or flies. Do you know that in the USA it’s already possible to buy cricket flour? What do you think of this deliciousness?
Habe alles gelesen.

Martina

It seem, that we are looking for more protein for our brain! I don’t know whether we are really in need of them as we are already soooo intelligent. Best wishes to you, too. Martina:)

I don’t want to judge how other people eat, but insects – especially flies and cockroaches and spiders and worms – are revolting to me. I might consider ants in powder form, though. For some reason, that doesn’t disgust me so much. As a non-meat eater (I eat only fish) I hope this trend is a way to make our protein come from a less cruel process.

Oh Julie, you really mentioned the most disgusting ones -cockroaches and flies- but I wouldn’t mind to eat crockets! I think, however, insects would contain less antibiotics and other chemicals given to animals on purpose to grow faster. I know that you love monkfish and so do I! Enjoy
your next meal, dear Julie:)

Well, as hunter gatherers, we humans are omnivores, and on those days we would eat whatever wouldn’t kill you first!
Even if I have being a vegetarian most of my life, not for health, merely for compassion, and aesthetics, (a bloody piece of meat it’s gross, at least to me) and I am with Tolstoy on the issue, crickets, and locust are eaten in many parts of the world, a lot of people would be amazed to know they are arthropods, and most people eat crabs, and lobsters, and consider them a delicacy. 🙂

I agree with your opinion, Mr. Brogida, and also with that of Leo Tolstoy when he said that we should do our best with the capabilities we have! Thank you very much for having read my old post.:) Enjoy yourself.
