  1. Like I said to our friend Brigido, I felt “The Edge of The Nest” was an unusually well done novel! If you agree, I would be interested in a few titles that stand out for you. “Oblomov,”
“Auto-de-Fe” and “Moby Dick” are among the very best for me. Franz Kafka is my very
    favorite.

    • Good morning Robert, I hope you don’t mind if I address you with your name, it sounds very German! For the time beeing I will go on reading “The Edge of the Nest” which takes me back to the Russian writer Turgenev and his time, about which I don’t know very much! As I said before I am also reading “The slaughterman’s daughter” and discuss it with my friend.
In German I am reading “Das Gewicht der Worte” by Pascal Mercier. This is a book for people who love languages. The next book in English I absolutely want to read is “The Year of the Flood” by Margaret Atwood. It’s perfect for our time and, anyway, I like her books. Another book I can recommend, especially for not young chickens is “When all is said” by Anne Griffin. The story of an Irish man who looks back on his life and speaks about the 5 most important people! I used to read Kafka when I was young, but wouldn’t mind to read one in the future! I loved Prague:)
I also have “Moby Dick” which I started once, but didn’t go on, but who knows!
In the meantime I wish you all the best.
      Martina

    • Hello Robert, I don’t know whether you ever got my emails!! In any case I am still reading Turgenev’s story! He is now in St. Petersburg, where he is meeting his beloved Pauline Viardot. Best regards
